About us

Ventus Libertas is a manufacturing company whose talent has been designing alternators and generators since 1996, working with most aircraft and automotive OEM manufacturers, as well as NASCAR and the U.S Coast Guard.

We have been in the renewable energy industry for 22 years, selling wind turbines and solar equipment out of Dallas, Tx. Our team has been working together for close to a decade and we have pride in our products.

Today, we produce several new and improved Lone Star Permanent Magnet Generators (PMGs) and Lone Star Wind Turbine Kits, compatible with classic and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controllers. We take care to offer high quality products at competitive prices and will always support our customers where we can.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I choose Ventus Libertas?

We hold our products to a higher standard than other wind turbine companies and have designed and produced our products specifically for wind use.

What Makes your Permanent Magnet Generators (PMGs) different from other companies?

Many PMG manufacturers modify a car alternator and sell that as a PMG. Our PMGs were designed specifically for wind use and include double the copper of car alternators. More copper=more power. Our PMGs also have cooling slots and skewed stator cores to reduce cogging at low speeds.

What is a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Controller?

An MPPT wind controller, or Maximum Power Point Tracking controller, is a device that optimizes wind turbine performance by finding the ideal power voltage point. This helps to maintain maximum power output when wind speeds are lower than rated and improves the efficiency of wind energy utilization.

Here's how an MPPT controller works:

  • It finds the best rotor RPM: For each wind speed, there is a specific rotor RPM where the wind turbine's torque and power output will be at their maximum. The MPPT controller finds this optimum RPM and runs the wind turbine there.

  • Regulates the charge: The MPPT controller regulates the charge of the battery bank. It's similar to a car's transmission, where the wrong gear prevents the wheels from receiving maximum power.

  • Extracts maximum power: The MPPT controller rectifies and extracts the maximum power available from the wind. It then supplies DC energy to the battery bank.

MPPT technology has been used for solar power for a long time, but it's more recent for wind turbines. Our turbines are compatible with Classic and MPPT controllers, and we recommend the Midnite Classic 250 MPPT controller, although others can be used.

Where are our parts manufactured?

All of our products are designed in America and manufactured in Vietnam.
